Large Coil: SmoothedHow do you make a smoothed large coil cup?
I made this pot by saying with rolling out a piece of clay and then using a circular mold to make the bottom. I then made about thirst coils of clay, all of different lengths slowly building up and smoothing the clay. I made this vase for colorful flowers. This is why I glazed it with straw tan over straw tan to contrast with colorful flowers. The hardest part of the piece was the glazing process. Because the piece has such a small opening, the metal clamp for the dipping process could not hold the vase. This meant that I had to hold the piece with my hand as I dipped it into the glaze. I thought the glaze would be ruined. However I am pleased with the final product. |
